Praise - Leave It All Behind - (REACT! Records)
Praise is a Melodic Hardcore band from Baltimore, MD. Their highly anticipated new EP entitled Leave It All Behind, which was produced by Will Yip and just released courtesy of REACT! Records, is a really awesome record that can be characterized by upbeat drumming, flanged out guitars, melodic breakdowns, and raunchy vocals. With that being said, the sounds heard on this EP can be compared to those heard by some of the more well-known Melodic Hardcore bands of both the past and the present including: Embrace, Rites Of Spring, 7 Seconds, GIVE, Mindset, and Title Fight. Tracks to definitely check out on this EP include: “Makes No Sense,” “Crash Into My Life,” “Settle Down,” and “Leave It All Behind.”
Angel Du$t - Rock The Fuck On Forever - (Pop Wig Records)
Angel Du$t is a Hardcore/Punk band from Baltimore, MD that is made up of members of many other well-known hardcore/punk bands including: Trapped Under Ice, Turnstile, Mindset, and Diamond Youth. Their highly anticipated new full length album entitled Rock The Fuck On Forever, which was just released courtesy of Pop Wig Records, is a really awesome record that can be characterized by upbeat drumming, catchy guitar hooks, melodic breakdowns, and raunchy vocals. With that being said, the sounds heard on this album can be compared to those heard by some of the more well-known hardcore/punk bands that were in their prime during the early-to-mid 1980’s including: Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat, and The Misfits. Tracks to definitely check out on this record include: “Toxic Boombox,” “Stay,” “Upside Down,” “Deep Love,” “Twist N Shout,” and “Cool Inside You.”
Pity Sex - White Hot Moon - (Run For Cover Records)
Pity Sex is an Alternative/Emo/Shoegaze band from Ann Arbor, MI. Their highly anticipated new album White Hot Moon, which marks the band’s 3rd full length release on Run For Cover Records, is a really awesome record that can be characterized by soft and soothing vocal melodies, fuzzed out guitars, powerful basslines, and emotionally compelling lyrics. With that being said, the sounds heard on this album can be compared to those heard from many other well-known Alternative/Emo bands on the scene such as: Tigers Jaw, Basement, Turnover, Adventures, Title Fight, and Petal. Influences of My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins (pre-Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness) can be heard on this record as well. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “Burden You,” “Bonhomie,” “What Might Soothe You?,” “Orange And Red,” and “Pin A Star.”
