Motion City Soundtrack – Panic Stations – (Epitaph Records)
Motion City Soundtrack is a Pop Punk/Indie Rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Their new album Panic Stations, which marks the band’s first new full length release in over 3 years. as well as their fourth full length release on Epitaph Records, is a really awesome record that can be characterized by upbeat drumming, catchy guitar riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics. Despite the 3 year break from the studio, Motion City Soundtrack has showed no signs of letting off the gas. In fact, many critics and fans consider Panic Stations to be the band’s best release to date. If you are a fan of The Wonder Years, Real Friends, Fireworks, or Superchunk, I highly recommend that you give this album a listen. Tracks to definably check out on this record include: “TKO,” “Lose Control,” “Heavy Boots,” “It's A Pleasure To Meet You,” and “The Samurai Code.”
H2O – Use Your Voice - (Bridge 9 Records)
H2O is a Hardcore/Punk Rock band from New York City. Their new album Use Your Voice, which marks the band’s first new studio release in over 7 years, is a really awesome an energetic record that shows that H2O still can and should be considered as one of the top Hardcore/Punk Rock acts today. Characterized by upbeat drumming, catchy guitar hooks, and angst filled vocals, the sounds heard on this album can be compared to those heard by many other well-known Hardcore/Punk Rock bands such as: The Bouncing Souls, 7 Seconds, Lagwagon, and Good Riddance. If you are looking for something that’s fast, loud, exciting, and that has a very positive message, this is most definitely the record for you! Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “Skate!,” “Thick And Thin,” “Use Your Voice,” “LYD,” and “#Not Real Life.”
Pentimento – I, No Longer – (Bad Timing Records)
Pentimento is an Alternative/Emo band from Buffalo, NY. Their new album I, No Longer, which marks the band’s first full length release on Bad Timing Records, is a really awesome record that can be characterized by upbeat and catchy guitar riffs, soft and soothing vocal melodies, and emotionally charged lyrics. With that being said, Pentimento’s sound can be compared to that of many other well-known Alternative/Emo bands including: Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Polar Bear Club, Turnover, and Knapsack. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “My Solution Is In The Lake,” “Sink Or Swim,” “Clever Reason,” “Stuck Forever,” and “Slow But Sure.”
