Their new full length album Tension is a fast paced and energetic record whose sound can be characterized by distorted guitar riffs, fast paced drumming, and muffled yet melodic vocals. Some notable punk rock bands whose sound can compared to that of Girl Tear’s include: The Ramones, The Misfits, and The Damned. To sum things up, this album is one that anyone who has ever been a fan of Punk Rock will most certainly enjoy. Sin 34 - Do You Feel Safe? - [Sinister Torch Records]
Sin 34 is a 4 piece Hardcore Punk band from Santa Monica, CA who were around during the early ‘80s and who re-united in 2008. Earlier this year, Sinister Torch Records decided to re-release the band’s only full length album Do You Feel Safe?, which first came out over 30 years ago. During their prime, Sin 34 was considered as very unique, as they were one of the only bands within the Hardcore Punk scene to feature a female lead vocalist. This gave the band an edge over a lot of the other bands on the scene though, as lead singer Julie Lanfield’s powerful and anger filled voice was able to give the band more of a hard edged sound which resembled the sound of some of the other bands within the L.A. Hardcore Punk scene such as: X, Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, and Fear. Tracks to definitely check out on this record include: “Do You Feel Safe,” “After You,” “War At Home,” “Say We Suck,” and “Left Waiting.”
