Spraynard is a 3 piece Pop Punk band from West Chester, PA. Their new album The Mark Tom And Patrick Show is a very catchy and upbeat record that fits the mold of today’s prototypical Pop Punk album. Characterized by melodic guitar lines, angsty vocals, and emotional lyrics, the songs on this record can be compared to those heard from other current Pop Punk bands such as Gnarwolves, Short Stories, and Rust Belt Lights. While the songs on this record are very pop oriented, they still show an obvious connection to ‘90s punk rock bands such as The Offspring, Green Day, and of course Blink-182. Hard Girls - A Thousand Surfaces - [Asian Man Records]
Hard Girls are a 3 piece Punk/Emo band featuring ex-members of Classics of Love, Shinobu, and Pteradon that is currently based out of San Jose, CA. Their new album A Thousand Surfaces is a really awesome record that mixes the fast and upbeat elements of punk rock with the emotional and heartfelt elements of emo all into one incredible product. Characterized by loud and distorted guitars, upbeat drumming, and emotionally charged vocals, the songs on this record can be compared to some of those heard from different ‘90s punk/emo bands such as Jawbreaker, Superchunk, and Hot Water Music. The band also shows a very keen resemblance to Joyce Manor, whose popularity has continued to skyrocket over the last couple of months. Slavve - Slavve - EP - [Bloodmoss Records]
Slavve is a 2 piece Post-Hardcore band from West Palm Beach, FL that now resides in Brooklyn, NY. Their new self-titled EP is a very interesting record that provides an odd yet unique mix of punk, post-punk, emo, and post-hardcore. The songs heard on this EP sound very similar to those heard from some of today’s more popular Post-Hardcore acts such as La Dispute, Rescuer, and Dads. While the band’s sound fits in well with today’s Post-Hardcore scene, they still show a keen resemblance to some of the earlier Post-Hardcore/Emo bands such as Jawbreaker, Braid, and Mineral. The Miami Dolphins - Becky - [For Practically Everyone Records]
The Miami Dolphins are a 4 piece Indie Punk band from Minneapolis, MN. Their new album Becky is a noisy wave of sound that can be characterized by its use of twangy guitars, loud drumming, and squealing vocals. While the songs on this album have a very unique sound them, they still show a keen resemblance to many different ‘80s punk bands such as The Minutemen, The Damned, and Wire. Tracks to definitely check out on this record include; “Blender,” “Pucker Upper,” “Free Way,” and “Citrus.” Even though this album is cacophonous mix of sounds, it still has a catchy/melodic side to it that the listener can definitely appreciate.

OBN IIIs is a 4 piece Garage Punk band from Austin, TX. Their new album Third Time To Harm is very solid record whose songs feature an awesome mix of punk rock, rockabilly, and surf rock. Characterized by shredding guitars, upbeat drumming, and powerful vocals, the songs heard on this record can be compared to those of some of the more iconic punk rock bands of the 1980s such as The Clash, Social Distortion, The Misfits, Agent Orange, and X.
